A creamy coffee cocktail
The Espresso Martini was created in the 1980s by British bartender Dick Bradsell at the Soho Brasserie in London. A customer asked for a drink that would "wake me up and then fuck me up", which inspired Bradsell to combine vodka, espresso, coffee liqueur and sugar syrup. Originally called the 'Vodka Espresso,' it later became known as the Espresso Martini.

- 20 ml vodka
- 20 ml coffee liqueur (e.g. Kahlúa)
- 20 ml freshly brewed espresso (or cold brew coffee)
- 10 ml syrup
- Ice cubes

Instructions
- Prepare the ingredients: Brew a strong espresso and let it cool slightly. If you don't have an espresso machine, you can use cold brew or strong brew coffee.
- Fill the shaker: Put ice cubes in a cocktail shaker and add the vodka, coffee liqueur, espresso and sugar syrup.
- Shake vigorously: Shake the shaker vigorously for about 15-20 seconds to create a rich foam.
- Strain the drink: Strain the drink through a fine-mesh sieve into a chilled martini glass.
- Garnish: Place three coffee beans on top symbolizing health, wealth and happiness.

- For the best foam, use fresh espresso and shake well.
- Want a creamier version? Add a dash of Baileys or other cream liqueur.
- For a colder drink, chill the martini glass before serving.
