Missionary's Downfall is an exotic cocktail created in the 1940s by bartender Donn Beach, known as a pioneer of tiki cocktails. It combines rum, mint, pineapple and lime juice for a fresh and fruity taste. The cocktail flavor is balanced between the sweetness of rum and pineapple and the fresh menthol-like taste of mint. Ingredients

  • 50 ml light rum
  • 15 ml pineapple juice
  • 10 ml lime juice
  • 10 ml honey syrup
  • 6-8 fresh mint leaves
  • Ice cubes
  • A sprig of mint and pineapple slice for garnish

Instructions

  1. Fill a shaker with ice cubes.
  2. Add the rum, pineapple juice, lime juice, honey syrup and mint leaves.
  3. Dredge the mint gently to release its flavor.
  4. Shake vigorously for about 10-15 seconds.
  5. Strain the drink into a chilled cocktail glass.
  6. Garnish with a sprig of mint and a slice of pineapple.
