Ingredients
- 50 ml light rum
- 10–12 fresh mint leaves
- 25 ml fresh lime juice
- 15 ml syrup
- Soda water (for topping)
- Ice cubes
- Mint and lime wedge for garnish
Instructions for use
- Place the mint leaves and the sugar coating in a highball glass.
- Dredge (pound) the mint gently to release the oils.
- Add the lime juice and rum.
- Fill the glass with ice cubes and stir gently.
- Top with soda water and stir one last time.
- Garnish with a lime wedge and a mint sprig.
Notes
- Use fresh mint and dredge carefully so as not to break the leaves, which can give a bitter taste.
- For a fresher version, you can use crushed ice.
- For best results, use a high-quality rum, preferably from Cuba.
